I’m currently editing our next video and this one’s going to be a little longer with a little more woodworking than what you’ve seen so far. This will be following a project from start to finish and the complete build will published over three parts.
When we set about a video like this we’ll always aim to make it clear what the build entails. With this first project we’ve opted to keep things simple with a piece that can be built by hand in a small space and with little material costs. Here’s what we’ve come up with:
This wall cupboard is a simplified version of the one we had planned last year (but haven’t yet got around to building). Rather than using the custom forging which we’ve had made for our oak version this one is being built with no hardware costs, just to proove it can be done.
Our version of the cupboard is built from pre planed pine so don’t excpect too many details on timber preparation or thicknessing this time around. Instead we take you step by step through a fast paced build which gives you plenty of scope for your own customisation. Before the first video is published I’ll provide access to our cutting list and plans in case you feel inspired to go out and get building – we may even have a holdfast spare for our favourite variant!

Thanks Ken and David, I’m working hard to get it out on time!
I look forward to seeing this build project,I am sure it will “kick start” the enthusiasm in many of us to have a go, the fact that the material costs are not going to break the bank is an added insentive,one could also build it from re cycled materials to give it a bit more of an antique look.

Recycled timber would be great for a build like this, the components are fairly small so you could pick out the most attractive parts and end up with a very nice aged look to your cupboard.
Hope you won’t mind a creaky old plodder like me following along with you on this project. I was thinking about making a similar style cupboard that I could use to house my drill bits and such in. I’ll have to see the dimensions but most likely, if not too large, it will work. I was thinking of wall-mounting a cabinet behind my table-top drill. I’ll go find my box of adhesive bandages so I’ll be ready to go. : )

Hi Mike, we’d love for you to follow along! The dimensions will be along shortly and looking at it, it will be a good size for storing drill bits, it’s nice and compact. The beauty is it’s very simple so easily scalable.
