For a while now we’ve been making plans and getting ourselves ready for this year’s European Woodworking Show. It’s only three weeks away and it’s at this point each year when we begin to panic; will we really be ready in time?
Richard says every year he’s going to find time prior to make himself a nice traveling tool chest. This is the fifth show now and still no chest. Thankfully though we’re on track for getting the workbenches completed.
We’ve always tried to bring along a very large showcase of a bench so this time may seem a little different as we’re focusing more on displaying the smaller designs in our range. There’s a good reason for this as over the next year we’ll be putting a lot of focus in to our videos and blog and building the smaller models balances well alongside.
Mike and all the team at Classic Hand Tools put in a tremendous effort to create this show so if you’ve no plans that weekend it’s well worth popping along. It’s always a laugh catching up with the other tool makers and woodworkers (especially in the pub on Saturday night!).
I know a lot of you have plans to visit and being one of the few times when we venture out in to the wider world we’re very much looking forward to seeing you there, please come by and say hello! We’ll be taking along some holdfasts and a few bits for sale so do let me know in advance if you have anything particular in mind – I’ll be sure to bring it along for you.
The European Woodworking Show is on the 21st & 22nd September
Wishing you both success at the show and wishing I could pop on a plane to be there.
Thanks Patrick, we’ll have to pop on that plane ourselves one day and do one in America 🙂
A tool chest build would make for a great video series. Hint…hint…
Have a great EWS!
I’ll get it pencilled in… Maybe it will be a good excuse to get the bloody thing built!
Thanks.
I dont drive these days, so these shows are a bit out of the way for me, but would love to there and meet you guys.
HaHa I agree with ScottV, come to think about it I have suggested the very same before. 😉
Very best with the show guys, have a great time. 🙂
Cheers Ken, it would have been great to meet you, though I’m sure one day we will.
Hi Both,
Already got my ticket (plan to attend on Saturday) and look forward to seeing you both again.
If you’re taking holdfasts, please reserve a pair for me. In the meantime, I’ll dig out a heavy mallet to bash them with!
That’s good news, we’ll look forward to seeing you there. Saturday’s a good bet since Richard’s usually hung over on Sunday 😉
I’ll sort those holdfasts for you.
I’ll be there and look forward to meeting you again.
Thanks Paul, can’t wait for a good natter.
See you there…
…with a pint I hope.
Looking forward to it.
Votos de um grande exito para o evento
Muito obrigado! 🙂
Well I’m going tickets sitting in front of me.
My first time really looking forward to it.
Be nice to meet you Richard 😉
Can’t make it until Sunday, don’t sell my hold fasts until I get there 🙂
BTW I’d be interested in Richards take on a tool chest. I have an old one but it doesn’t quite work as I want. So after my new bench, guess what I’ll be making.
Looking forward to meeting you both.
Mark
