Busy, Busy, Busy

You may have noticed a slight decline in the number of our blog post over the last couple of weeks. Don’t worry, we will be back up to form very shortly but for now we’ve just had to get our heads down and get on. We’ve been incredibly busy with a variety of things and number one of course – there’s many benches to be built. We are working very hard to keep on top of orders although our waiting time is still steadily growing so please bear this in mind if you are considering a workbench, we are looking at a lead of at least three to four months at the moment.

We’ve been filming as often as possible and recently decided that a dedicated ‘studio’ was in order. Filming in the workshop hasn’t been ideal as it’s difficult to keep things tidy and there’s a lot of noise at times from other businesses around us. Last weekend we squeezed in some time to make a start with our plans and began creating the new film area; an area designed to mimic a small home workshop that will be ready to go whenever we can steal a free evening. With this set up it will really speed things along with our video production and we will be rolling them out before you know it.

In other news… Peter Sefton has invited us along again to his open day this summer. This will be held in July at his furniture school down in Worcester, keep an eye on Peter’s website for further details.

Richard has recently completed an article which will be published in the June issue of Furniture and Cabinet Making magazine on sale 16th May – we’ll give you a little prompt about this once it’s out on the shelves.

And finally… We have an Artisan workbench available in stock. This is a very unique one because it is the first model that we built and has been used as a demonstration bench on various occasions. Because of it’s used nature with a few small bumps and scrapes it’s for sale for the stupidly cheap price of £995.00 although we have given it a good clean up, a top flatten and a re-finish so for all intents and purposes it is very much like new. This is the only one that will be offered at this price and we will sell on a first come first served basis. If you are interested please email helen@rm-workbenches.co.uk or phone 07920423123 or visit our website for full details of the features www.rm-workbenches.co.uk. It is the very workbench seen in this video (below) and the photographs throughout this post have been taken just now to show its current condition.

Thanks Helen, nice post. If I had the pennies that bench would be sold now. I’m looking forward to the videos, but I know that it is not a two minute job. Good luck with these.
